COMMUNITY ASPHALT CORP. OF HIALEAH, FL IS AWARDED PROJECT BY FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO IMPROVE DANGEROUS SECTION OF US-1 UTILIZING AN INNOVATIVE FINANCING STRUCTURE
Miami, FL, February 5, 2008— Community Asphalt Corp. of Hialeah, FL, acquired by Spanish construction multinational OHL in 2006, announced today that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has accepted, after a year-long negotiation process, its January 2007 unsolicited bid to rebuild a dangerous section of US-1 in two years (2008 and 2009), completing it five years ahead of the Florida Department of Transportation schedule. No other company made a competing offer before the March 2007 deadline.
